Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Promoter: Surf Coast Shire Council.
  2. Eligibility: Open to Surf Coast Shire residents, ratepayers and visitors. Council employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  3. How to Enter:
    • Post a photo on your Facebook or Instagram feed (not story*) showing how you’re getting into the festive spirit.
    • Tag Surf Coast Shire Council (@SurfCoastShire on Instagram or Surf Coast Shire Council on Facebook) and include the hashtag #SurfCoastSpirit.
    • Posts or accounts must be set to public for entries to be visible.
  4. Competition Period: Entries open 30/10/25 and close 11:59pm on 28 December 2025.
  5. Prizes: Two winners will each receive a $100 local prize (e.g. voucher or hamper).
  6. Winner Selection: Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible entries, one for the period 30 October-14 December, and one for the period 15-28 December. Winners will be announced on Surf Coast Shire Council’s Facebook and Instagram pages on the day after the selection period closes.
  7. Notification: Winners will be contacted via direct message on the platform they entered. If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, a new winner may be selected.
  8. Content Use: By entering, participants consent to Surf Coast Shire Council sharing their photo (with credit) on Council’s social media channels and websites.
  9. Other: This competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Instagram.
  10. *Image posted on stories (not feed) before 20 November will be included if we were able to capture them before they expired. From 20 November we will only use images on feeds.
