Surf Coast Shire Council will gift excess vacant land in Winchelsea to the Victorian State Emergency Service (SES), to support the volunteer-based organisation.
Council approved the transfer of 2504m2 of land at 325 Mousley Drive, Winchelsea to the SES at the July 2024 Council meeting. The SES Winchelsea Unit is based at the site, which fronts the Princes Highway.
Update: March 2025
Council also approved to sell a separate portion of excess land adjoining the site through a public process. It is expected to be placed on the market in the coming months, following improvements.
Submission period
Council invited submissions on the gifting and the sale of land over a four-week period in mid-2025. No submissions were received.
