The project design was paused while we engaged with Department of Transport (DTP) to explore other traffic options.

DTP does not support widening the service road into the Great Ocean Road corridor. Options explored included reducing priority for the bicycle lane past the Top Shops, introducing direct parking access from the Great Ocean Road, and adding parallel parking on the opposite side of the road.

These constraints limit design flexibility and mean improved footpaths can only be achieved by modifying or reducing car parking.
