Tell us what made a difference, and what can improve

Over summer, the Lorne and Cumberland communities stepped up in extraordinary ways.

People opened their homes, shared their skills, checked on neighbours, and supported one another when it mattered most.

We want to hear your thoughts about what worked, what was challenging, and what would make the response even stronger.

We’ve worked closely with local businesses to understand the economic impacts, so this survey focuses on residents’ experiences to complement that work.

Your feedback will guide a community‑led working group, and Council will also draw on these insights to strengthen our own planning and support. Because Lorne is a remote community, it can take time for emergency responders to arrive, so locals are themselves first responders until agencies get there.
