The Surf Coast community love their pets. For many people we know they are part of the family.

The companionship of a cat, dog or other domestic animal can provide a range of mental and physical health benefits, including reduced stress and loneliness, increased physical activity, and opportunities for social connection.

Council encourages responsible pet ownership on the Surf Coast.

Our local laws and the Domestic Animals Act relating to domestic animals are in place to help people and animals enjoy our shared spaces and live respectfully side-by-side, and to protect our natural environment and native wildlife.

You can help shape the way we’ll manage domestic animals and encourage responsible pet ownership over the next four years by taking this short survey.

Before you start the survey, here is a map of current land managers across the Surf Coast Shire. Our team works in partnership with Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority and Parks Victoria.
