The Newling Reserve Playground was designed to suit the character of the attractive landscaped setting. The playground location is suitable for walking and cycling through the reserve with 13 timber sculptures scattered throughout and includes both a skate park and BMX track.
This playground is what we refer to as a district scale accessible playground and has access to a shelter and BBQ / picnic facility.
We regularly inspect Council playgrounds and renew them when they’re ageing and in poor condition, before they become unsafe. This playground is almost 20 years old, and its footings are rotting so it's due for a renewal.
The playground will remain an accessible playground. It will also offer the same play features and fun, with minor changes based on community input. We might swap a rock-climbing wall with a rope net, a standard swing for a basket swing, or a tic tac toe panel with a clock – that’s where your input comes in.
We’ll retain everything the community tells us they love about the playgrounds – whether that’s the look and feel or the ages it caters for.
We invite you to have your say through the below survey.
The survey will be open until 5pm on Monday 13 January 2025.
