New Wurdi Baierr Aquatic and Recreation Centre taking shape
Construction of the new centre is progressing well. It will adjoin and share its entry with the existing Wurdi Baierr Stadium in Torquay.
In Wadawurrung Language Wurdi Baierr (pronounced word-ee by-eer) means ‘big gathering place’.
Stage 1 and 2 works are being completed at the same time, with the centre set to open in early 2027.
